Floating Isogeometric Analysis

چکیده

We propose Floating Isogeometric Analysis (FLIGA), which extends IGA to extreme deformation analysis. The method is based on a novel tensor-product construction of B-Splines for the update basis functions in one direction parametric space. With “floating” deformation-dependently this direction, mesh distortion overcome problems deformations occur predominantly along associated (possibly curved) physical axis. In doing so, we preserve numerical advantages splines over many meshless functions, while avoiding remeshing. employ material point integration quadrature, thus attributing Lagrangian character our technique. paper introduces and reviews fundamental properties FLIGA including patch test. performance then numerically investigated benchmark Newtonian viscoelastic Taylor–Couette flow. Finally, simulate extrusion-based additive manufacturing process, served as original motivation new approach.
